Greece: Precipitating cloud

Precipitation Probability Level is part of the Precipitating Clouds (CP) is one of the EUMESAT ‘s (European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites) NWC SAF (Satellite Application Facility on support to Nowcasting) products. The National Observatory of Athens has installed and operates the 2016 version.
The Precipitation Probability Level is estimated every 15 minutes, using imagery from the geostationary meteorological satellite Meteosat and auxiliary data from the non-hydrostatic numerical model WRF v3.6.1 (Weather Research and Forecasting Model). It is an instant parameter, providing an estimation of the probability that the clouds are precipitating during the time of the satellite image.
