Greece: Precipitating cloud

Precipitating Clouds (CP) is one of the EUMESAT ‘s (European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites) SAF NWC (Satellite Application Facility on support to Nowcasting) products. The National Observatory of Athens has installed and operates the 2013 version, since 2015.
The Precipitation Probability Level is estimated every 15 minutes, using imagery from the geostationary meteorological satellite Meteosat and auxiliary data from the non-hydrological numerical model WRF v3.6.1 (Weather Research and Forecasting Model). It is an instant parameter, providing the probability that the colored clouds will be precipitating during the 15 minutes that follow the nominal time of the satellite image.
