Greece: Precipitable Water

Total Precipitable Water is part of the Clear Air (iSHAI) is one of the EUMESAT ‘s (European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites) NWC SAF (Satellite Application Facility on support to Nowcasting) products. The National Observatory of Athens has installed and operates the 2016 version. Total Precipitable Water is estimated every 15 minutes, using imagery from the geostationary meteorological satellite Meteosat and auxiliary data from the non-hydrostatic numerical model WRF v3.6.1 (Weather Research and Forecasting Model). It is an instant parameter, providing an estimation of the Total Precipitatble Water of the troposphere at the time of the satellite image. The product is available only for non-cloud pixels.
